Nandi Hills, The Great Place of Escape from Bangalores Pleseant and  Poluted  Atmosphere just 70 Kilometers Away.

Nandi Hills , Also Known as Nandi Durga is a group of Hills Just 70 Kilometers away from Bangalore. The Nandi hills can be reched very easily from Bangalore via the Hyderabad Road. It was one on the Summer Retreats Of Tipu Sultan. It was the British who made gardens and Built Bungalows On the top of the hill. The 1478 M High Peak of Nandi is the source of input for many rivers.

I Have visited Nandi Hills Many Times, more than 20 Times. Most of the times I used to  go with Mr Naren From Bangalore (A Wonderful Paraglider who was adicted to Paragliding at nandi hills http://www.flynandi.com ). Even i had my first Tandem Flight over nandi Hills with Mr Naren. Sometimes Others Like Murthy, Uli ,Jaggi and Many used to Join the Team (Visit http://www.flynandi.com For more info). It was fun.

Tipu's Drop

A 600 m high cliff face where according to legend, condemned prisoners were pushed to their death. On misty days when the wind wails in the trees, you can almost hear the blood-curdling screams of the prisoners as they met their gruesome end. But look down on a clear day and the view is inspiring.

Yoga Nandishvara Temple:
This beautiful Chola temple has an inscription of Sambhaji, Shivaji's son. The Dwarapalakas, the splendid metallic figures are not-to-be-missed.  There are many other beautiful Temples Near Nandi Hills.

HOW TO REACH NANDI HILLS FROM BANGALORE

Nandi Hills is well connected by road From Bangalore. The Hills are located to the North of Bangalore. You hve to move along the New Airport Road, and a few Kilometers after the  Turn for the airport, there is another turn to the Left leading To Nandi Hills. The nandi Hills are visible from The new Bangalore Airport. The distance to Nandi Hills is just 60 Kms.
