Annan Thampy Hills - Trekking

Annan Thampy Hills are located three kilometers north of Kuttikkanam. It is visible from Kuttikkanam town as a group of round pinnacles to the back of college painted in red. Beyond this hill is a valley which descends down to the town of Elapara.

The word Annan Thampy means Big Brother and Small Brother in Tamil,a name very significant to refer this couple of Big and Small hill. This is a good location for one day trekking from Kuttikkanam.

How to reach Annan Thampi Hills

From Kuttikkanam you must move along the route to Kattapana for about four Kilometers crossing the town of Pallikunnau. About one kilometer after Pallikunnu (300 Meters before Memala) you find a road down to the slope on your right, known as Glen Mary Road, Move along this route for Kilometer and find a track to going to Annan Thampy hills.

It takes almost 4-5 hours to reach the peak. The vegetation is mostly shrubs and grasses . From the top you can have a bird’s eye view of the towns of Elepara, Peermade and Vagamon. This hill stands as a pinnacle at the center of these towns.
